Quel navigateur choisir ?

“18% des internautes utilisent Internet Explorer 6 (IE6)” c’est un des constats que l’on peut tirer d’une étude réalisée par Marketshare. Le problème est que IE6 est obsolète, même Microsoft, son créateur, l’affirme.
Si vous avez acheté votre PC avant 2007 et que vous ne savez pas exactement ce qu’est un navigateur, il est possible que vous utilisiez IE6. Pour en avoir le coeur net, cliquez sur le point d’interrogation dans la barre de menu de votre navigateur, puis cliquez sur “à propos de…”.
Pour faire simple, le navigateur est le programme qui vous permet de naviguer sur internet. Comme internet évolue, les programmes doivent s’adapter pour répondre aux nouvelles contraintes et afficher correctement les nouveaux contenus.
Utiliser internet explorer 6, c’est un peu comme rouler en 2CV sur une autoroute allemande. Premièrement c’est lent, deuxièmement c’est dangereux et enfin vous êtes loin d’exploiter le potentiel de l’autoroute. Et bien, sur internet c’est la même chose, IE6 est lent, il présente de nombreuses failles de sécurité qui pourraient mettre en danger vos données et il n’affiche pas correctement les sites les plus récents. A la différence des voitures, changer de navigateur est gratuit. Il ne vous reste donc pas d’excuses.
Voici une sélection des navigateurs les plus utilisés et une brève explication quelque peu subjective qui aura le mérite de ne pas vous perdre dans de grands comparatifs sur les performances techniques.
Mozilla Firefox
Firefox est un programme open-source, c’est-à-dire développé par une communauté de programmeurs. Les mises à jour sont fréquentes, il est donc toujours à la pointe. Son grand avantage est qu’il permet d’ajouter différentes fonctionnalités (add-ons) qui peuvent s’avérer très utiles.

Google Chrome
Chrome est le nouveau navigateur lancé par Google. Au point de vue des performances, c’est un des meilleurs, il est très rapide. Son design épuré le rend assez agréable à utiliser.

Safari est le navigateur d’apple. Il est aussi disponible sur PC, il est également assez ergonomique et très performant. Il satisfera surement les amateurs de produits apple.

IE est souvent à la traine, les mises à jour sont peu fréquentes et ne proposent en général rien de vraiment neuf. Elles ne font qu’ajuster l’outil au niveau de ses concurrents. Ce navigateur est un des plus utilisés, mais ceci s’explique par le fait qu’il est installé automatiquement avec windows.

Opera est un navigateur plus spécialisé. Il présente de nombreuses options qui permettent de personnaliser sa navigation. Mais il n’est pas aussi rapide que Safari ou Chrome. Il conviendra surtout aux connaisseurs.

Finalement, le choix reste une affaire de goût. Les blogueurs n’ont pas fini d’argumenter à propos du meilleur navigateur. Mais une chose est sure, les navigateurs, comme les plaquettes de frein, se remplacent régulièrement.
