Le micro-blogging est la nouvelle mode du web. La vague est en train d’arriver en Europe menée par Twitter. Le principe du micro-blog est simple. Vous possédez un profil assez minimaliste (nom, pseudonyme, photo, lien). Vous publiez des micro-messages à qui veut bien l’entendre.
Ces messages peuvent exprimer une idée, faire part d’un scoop, partager un lien, une image, une vidéo, etc. C’est en quelque sorte le plus petit format d’expression sur internet et sans doute le plus spontané aussi.
A quoi ça sert ? Je me suis posé la même question en m’intéressant au sujet. Twitter est fait pour suivre les informations d’autres utilisateurs avec qui vous partagez des centres d’intérêt. Avec un compte Twitter on peut lire les publications d’amis, de collègues, de politiciens, de journalistes, de bloggueurs, etc.
L’atout principal du micro-blogging est la vitesse de propagation de l’information. C’est encore une fois le bouche à oreille qui fait son travail : les informations circulent, certaines attirent l’attention et sont relayées. Lorsque quelqu’un nous suit, on est tenté de le suivre aussi. Et petit à petit, une nouvelle communauté virtuelle se forme.
Selon moi, le micro-blogging à grande échelle perd un peu de son intérêt parce que l’on se retrouve vite dépassé par le flux d’informations. Je considère qu’il pourrait avoir une utilité plus intéressante au sein d’une communauté plus fermée. Pour une association par exemple, le micro-blog peut être un moyen très efficace pour que les membres s’échangent des idées de manière informelle à tout moment. Ce serait une sorte de tableau où chacun viendrait afficher une photo, un article, une idée, etc.
